This notice explains what personal information I collect through metaedgemarketing.com, why I collect it and what your rights are. I’ve kept it in plain English.

Who I am

MetaEdge Marketing is the trading name of Cameron Cox, a sole trader based in Marsworth, near Tring. I’m the data controller for the personal information described here.

Postal address: [YOUR BUSINESS POSTAL ADDRESS]
Email: cameron@metaedgemarketing.com
Phone: 07495 366801
ICO registration number: [ICO NUMBER, if registered]

What I collect

  • When you contact me through a form, by email or by phone: your name, email address, phone number, business name, website address and anything you choose to tell me in your message.
  • When you become a client: the contact and billing details needed to deliver the work and invoice you, plus logins or account access you choose to share for the work (for example your website, Google Business Profile or ad accounts).
  • When you browse the site: if you accept analytics or marketing cookies, information about how you use the site, such as pages visited, device type and approximate location. This is collected by tools like Google Analytics and is not used to identify you personally.

Why I use it, and the lawful basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me.
  • To deliver the work and invoice you: performance of our contract.
  • To keep financial records: legal obligation (HMRC record keeping).
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it, and to measure advertising: your consent, given through the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time.
  • To send you occasional useful emails: only if you’ve asked for them or you’re an existing client, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Who I share it with

I don’t sell your information. I only share it with the services I use to run my business, under their own data protection terms:

  • Website hosting and email: Krystal Hosting, UK
  • Website analytics and advertising measurement: Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads) and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), only if you accept those cookies
  • Accounting and invoicing: [ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE]
  • My accountant, and HMRC where the law requires it

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that don’t go further: up to 2 years, then deleted.
  • Client records and invoices: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as HMRC requires.
  • Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics.

Your rights

You can ask me to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how I use it, or move it to someone else. Where I rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Just email me and I’ll respond within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

The site uses essential cookies to work properly. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings button on the site, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
